The deepest flooded abyss in the world, the warmest caves in the country, spas, viaducts, the unique glass-roofed courtyard of the local château, the romantic Helfštýn Castle, mysterious Libavá, the Potštát rock town, a magical countryside and the historical town centre. That is a list of just a few attractions that you can find in and around Hranice. There are very few places where you can see so many natural and historical treasures in such a small area.

A picturesque town with a historical centre, magical narrow streets, and arcades that provide pleasant shade in summer and protection from bad weather in winter. Pleasant walks in the château gardens, in a historical park, or along the Bečva River. All this can be found in the town of Hranice, which boasts a rich history, interesting sights, a magical countryside in the immediate surroundings, and incredible natural attractions.

Just down the road from Hranice you will find a healing water spa in the village of Teplice nad Bečvou. Long ago, the local acidulous spring water carved out the Zbrašov Aragonite Caves, the warmest caves in the Czech Republic, and also created the Hranice Abyss, the deepest flooded abyss in the world.

The town and its vicinity offer plenty of opportunities for spending active leisure time, especially on the numerous cycle routes which pass through the area.

Whether your stay in Hranice is a long or short one, and whether you go for a walk or a bike ride, or simply take a seat in one of the local cafés, the town will always reward you. It will leave you with memories of a magnificent countryside, historical landmarks, pleasant and well-tended surroundings with a touch of bygone times, and a hospitable atmosphere. And that’s definitely worth a visit.
