The tower of the Old Town Hall, a magnificent example of a building with Gothic and Renaissance features, provides an exceptional view not only of the town, but also of the valley of the Moravian Gate and the Beskid Mountains.

It boasts a 38-metre-tall tower which is open to the public during the tourist season. On the way up the town hall tower, you can view an exhibition of chests or an exhibition of mineralogy, and admire watercolours by painter Jan Pinkava, which capture old views of Hranice from the town hall tower.

The core of the building dates from the early 16th century, but the spaces in the basement are much older.
At present, the Old Town Hall building houses museum exhibition halls and a library. You will also find a remarkable Gothic hall with a stellar vault dating from 1528 in the building. The Old Town Hall is open from Tuesday to Sunday, and the tower is accessible by prior arrangement at the information centre in the château.
