The Zbrašov Aragonite Caves lie in the picturesque valley of the Bečva River in the spa village of Teplice nad Bečvou. Their year-round constant temperature of 14.5°C makes them the warmest caves in the whole Czech Republic. This unique cave system of European importance was formed by the action of atmospheric water and warm mineral water emerging from great depths in the limestone. Unique decorations of the caves are formed by the mineral aragonite, as well as raft stalagmites and spherical sinter coatings resembling doughnuts. The lowest levels of the Zbrašov Aragonite Caves are permanently filled with carbon dioxide gas.
The caves were discovered around the turn of the year 1913, and were opened to the public in 1926. Tours are only possible with a guide according to a fixed schedule. The tour circuit is 375 metres long and takes about 1 hour.
